Marquetry is the art of applying finely cut veneer to create decorative patterns and designs, traditionally used in cabinet making. In my practice, I explore this intricate process through contemporary 2D wall works, embracing the texture and precision of the medium to create abstract compositions inspired by land and cityscapes.

Since beginning marquetry in 2026, I’ve been drawn to the hands-on process—cutting, assembling, gluing, pressing, sanding, and polishing. It’s a methodical and deeply satisfying practice that continues to shape my evolving body of work.
